Richard “Outasight” Andrew

Written By Loic Maestracci

Platinum-Selling Artist, Songwriter, and Co-Founder, 83 Sound

Outasight is a platinum-selling artist, songwriter, and co-founder of the independent label 83 Sound. He broke through with “Tonight Is The Night” on Warner and took it everywhere, from Lollapalooza to The Tonight Show with The Roots to the NHL All-Star Game. Then he went independent and kept making feel-good records his way. Those songs ended up all over the place: a ton of film and TV, Apple, Google, Pepsi, PlayStation, Xbox, Spider-Man, and the NBA, NFL, and MLB, to name a few. In 2019, he and longtime producer Cook Classics started 83 Sound to help other artists make music they love and get it heard. His new album, Keep On Rollin, is his most personal yet.

Panelists will dig into what sustainable sync income actually looks like, how artists can build lasting relationships with supervisors and agencies rather than chasing single placements, and what ownership, publishing, and rights decisions matter most for long-term financial health. Whether you're an independent artist trying to make music your livelihood or already landing placements and want to build something more durable, this panel offers a grounded look at how sync can fit into a real, sustainable career—and the pitfalls to avoid.
